Mushfiq Ensemble

Mushfiq Ensemble features two brothers as principal artists: Said Mushfiq Hashimi, lead vocal and harmonium player, and Said Moheb Hashimy, who plays lead percussion. They are accompanied by their younger brother Shuja Sayed on support percussion, as well as Shalini Sahni, a student at the Mushfiq Arts Company, School of Music and Visual Arts in Ottawa, who will provide support on vocal, tanpura and khanjari. The Mushfiq Ensemble has played in Holland, France, England, Germany and Austria as well as Eastern countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and India. They sing in 12 different languages, providing something special for everyone while conveying a feeling of unity and harmony amongst all. Said Mushfiq Hashmi and his ensamble will be opening the Saturday stage at 12.00 Noon on July 9th.
